Wood, Barbara- of Mt. Morris, age 96, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Gross Assisted living. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, March 14, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ralph Pieper officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 1PM until 7PM and Monday from 10AM until time of service. An Eastern Star memorial will be held at 6PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the O.E.S Chapter #283 or to First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris, in lieu of flowers.
Barbara was born September 20, 1925, to the late Clarence and Linnie (Brabazon) Peterson. Barbara married Sidney Wood on October 5, 1947, they shared 74 years together and made many memories. She worked for Flint Public School District for 15 years. Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. She was a lifelong member of the Eastern Stars Chapter #283, and the American Legion Aux. Barbara enjoyed bowling, golfing, and her family.
Surviving are: Husband, Sidney Wood; Daughters: Judith Basinski and Debra (Allan) Thompson; Grandsons: Nicolas (Katie) Basinski and Joseph Basinski; Great granddaughters: Madeline and Shayleigh Basinski; Nieces and nephews: Charlotte Mallow, Donald Batterbee, Sheryl McClain, Carol Ramin, Dennis Bigelow and Mark Bigelow. She is preceded in passing by Sister, Elizabeth Bigelow and son in law, Thomas Basinski.
