Carter, Robert Henry "Bob" Of Flushing, age 73, died Monday, November 2, 2020, at McLaren-Flint. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society via the Rossell Funeral Home.
Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on January 28, 1947, the youngest son of seven children to William and Emogene (Traver) Carter. He married Cherie Fournier on October 25, 1968, in Davison. He graduated from Ainsworth High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor College. Robert served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After his retirement from General Motors, he went on to become and retire as the Global Vice President of Automotive for Festo Corporation. Robert enjoyed traveling, boating, and golfing. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching any and all sporting events. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cherie; children, Paul Carter, Brian and wife Jennifer Carter, Jill Carter; siblings, Frank and wife Delores Carter, Margaret Craton; He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James Carter, William Carter, Fred Carter, Ed Carter, and George "G.T." Carter and his father-in-law and good buddy, L.Z. Fournier.
