FOSTER, JOHN “JACK” – Of Grand Blanc, age 101 years young, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Regency at Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Pine River Cemetery in Blanchard, Michigan.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Make-A Wish Foundation.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
John was born in Blanchard, Michigan on July 18, 1922, the son of the late Henry and Catherine Foster and was a resident of Grand Blanc for many years.
He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps during World War II.
He married Bettie Jane Snyder in 1948 and adopted her two children, David Dubuque and Betty MacLean. From 1949 to 1956 they had three sons, John, Daniel and Brian.
Mr. Foster was employed and retired from AC Spark Plug Division and was a member of UAW Local #651 retirees.
Surviving are sons, John (Susan),
Daniel (Donna) and
David (Sandy);
He was a proud grandfather of John Aaron and wife Lori Foster and Matthew Ryan and wife Victoria Foster.
He was a proud great-grandfather of Brittany Boswell, John Z and Sydney Foster.
Besides family, he leaves behind many friends and great neighbors.
Those preceding him in passing were mother and father, Henry and Catherine; son, Brian; daughter Betty (Charlie) Lewis.
