NEITZKE, Herman D. – of Genesee, Michigan, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Private family services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Burial in Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville.
Herman was born on August 16, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to the late Herman and Clara (Hinman) Neitzke. He was raised on his family farm in Columbiaville and graduated from Columbiaville High School in 1952. Herman hired into AC Spark Plug in 1955 before taking military leave to join the U.S. Air Force in January of 1956. He later married Fern McFee in January of 1959. Herman was honorably discharged from the U.S Air Force in December of 1959 and returned to AC Spark Plug until retirement in April of 1986. During Herman’s retirement days he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and being crafty. He loved spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are: 3 children: Greg (Sharon), Steven, and Cathy (Randy); 7 grandchildren: Ken (Cara) Ashley (Eric), Wendy, Jessie, Sadie, Cassandra, and Robbie; 14 great grandchildren: Michael, Elijah, Shyann, Taylor, Kadence, Trinity, Lilly, Evan, Noah, Owen, Faith, Gabriella, Madalyn, and Jaxson; 2 great-great grandchildren: Brantley and Waylon.
