Linda Louise Wetherwax, age 82, of Genesee formerly of Otisville, passed peacefully at home, Sunday morning October 10, 2021. A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday October 15, 2021 at Otisville United Methodist Church 200 W. Main St. Otisville. Pastor Ron Hutchinson officiating: with private burial in Smith-Hill Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors from 2-5 pm Thursday at Hansen Funeral Home, Downtown Davison. Linda will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am Friday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the Otisville United Methodist Church.
Linda was born to Ronald and Alma Matzenbach on February 10, 1939. She built quite the amazing life once meeting the LOVE of her LIFE, Merle Ray Wetherwax. Linda and Merle, married February 23, 1957, they were married for over 64 years and together more than 67. Linda and Merle built a beautiful life together in Otisville with their family. Linda worked for the Lakeville Memorial School System for 17 years as a secretary, before retiring from the school system. At that time, she and Merle moved to the Houghton Lake area and Linda began working for Chemical Bank for a few years, and then worked for the Denton Township offices, until 1999, when Linda finally retired. Once retired, she and Merle enjoyed Florida for a few years, coming home to Otisville each summer to spend time with their family.
Linda had the kindest soul, always putting others before herself. She had more love for her family than any one person could ever show, and each and every one of her family members new they were her favorite.
Linda’s legacy leaves behind a world of love; husband Merle R Wetherwax, sons Kevin (Tammy) Wetherwax, Jeff (Brenda) Wetherwax, daughter Janeen Clark, Grandchildren; Bridgette (Mark) Miniear, Valerie (Howard) Cook, Bryan (Danielle) Wetherwax, Carrie (Chad) Peterson, Stacey (Jay) McDaniel, Shawna (Cullen) Kappel, and Gretchen Sauer. Having 18 awesome Great-Grandchildren with the 19th Great Grandchild on the way, and one precious Great Great Granddaughter, as well as loving sister Sally Carpenter, much loved brother-in-law’s, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her Parents Ronald and Alma Matzenbach, In-Laws Lewis and Irene Wetherwax, Sister Fran Edwards, Brother Kenneth (Bud) Matzenbach, Grandson Kevin “Wayne” Wetherwax, Son-in-law William Clark, sister-in-law Jean Beagle and brother-in-law Don Wetherwax.
