Marcia Kay Aikin, age 73, of Otter Lake & Otisville died September 7, 2021 at home with her loving family beside her.
Marcia was born September 18, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert and Marjorie [Hemingway] Haughey. She served in the Otter Lake Village government for over 40 years, and was instrumental in fundraising for the Otter Lake Veterans Memorial and Otter Lake Historical Society. She also helped with the Lakeville Adopt-A-Family. She enjoyed all crafts, expecially knitting and sewing, but most of all she loved psending time with her family and friends.
Marcia is survived by her children: William (Denise) Aikin, John (Tracy) Aikin, Aimee Aikin, siblings: Richard (Carol) Haughey, Bill (Jennifer) Haughey, Barb (Dave) Smith, Vicky Haughey, 2 grandchildren: Shaun Aikin, Summer Bentley, 3 great-grandchildren: Brantlee, Leeland, Brayden, and her longtime close friend Doris Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey, brothers Robert and Bruce. A special thanks to the staff of Grace Hospice for helping us care for our mom.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Marcia’s Life will be held 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Forest Township Senior Center. Memorial contributions in memory of Marcia may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville.
