-Age 77, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. There will not be a service or a funeral, she lived every day to the fullest and this was her wish.
Verna was born April 17, 1947, in Flint, the daughter of Vernon H. and Joyce (Gell) Selleck. She was a graduate of Lakeville High School. She married William “Bill” Swain on February 7, 1969, at the Community Church in Genesee. She was blessed with one daughter, and Bill and Verna raised Shana Mueller together.
She was a dedicated homemaker and her priority was always her family. The home and life Bill and her created was and still is a joy to visit inside and out. She will be sadly missed, but her legacy at her home provides so much comfort as she is with us everywhere you look. She spent hours decorating with heirloom artifacts, a love of photos, and antiques that she collected throughout her entire life. Her favorite flowers have always been Morning Glories, roses, and hydrangeas. This past summer was no different; she lived every day to the fullest, and she and Bill created one last special flowering tree garden.
Surviving are: her daughter, Shana Mueller (Swain); grandchildren, Joshua Swain Mueller and Theodore James Mueller. Brother, Keith Selleck, cousins; Jessica Bailey (Jon) Madar, Lucy and Mollie. Verna was greatly loved by so many family and friends who showed up in her final weeks and hours and we are so grateful for all your support, prayers, and kindness. |
