TIMM, Virginia Sue "Ginnie" - Of Flint, age 94, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Brad Haist officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saginaw Grace Communion or Grace Hospice.
Visitation 11am Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Private burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Virginia was born in Newbern, Tennessee on October 3, 1927, the daughter of the late Ashley and Lillian (Carpenter) Self. On May 31, 1947, she married Virgil Timm in Flint at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Virgil preceded her in death on April 8, 1984. Virginia was also a member of Peace Lutheran (Lamb of God), Bethany Baptist and Grace Communion at Rose Haven. Virginia's hobbies included sewing and baking. She had a fondness for making quilts and baked goods for her numerous friends at Rose Haven. Virginia also had a love of gardening and farming, and overall enjoyed the outdoors. Above all else, she loved her family. Virginia had a special gift for remembering and acknowledging friends and family member’s birthdays which she never forgot. Virginia loved Jesus and was a loving and forgiving woman with a big heart.
Surviving are children, Bernard Timm, Nancy (Mike) Barker, Paul (Tammy) Timm, Brenda Dery and Cheryl (Dan Bergeron) O'Brien;
12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren;
brother, George (Jean) Self;
and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five of her siblings.
