LAVELLE, J. WILLIAM “BILL” – Of Grand Blanc, age 86, died Monday, January 6, 2025 at Tranquility Estates.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Road, Goodrich, Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. LaVelle will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the Mass.
Bill was born in Flint, Michigan on March 25, 1938, the son of the late Joseph and Luella (Mallon) LaVelle.
He served as a US Marine from 1957-1960.
On August 26, 1961 he married Sharon Nelson.
He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Surviving are daughter, Kelli LaVelle;
son, Mark and wife Rhonda LaVelle;
granddaughter, Kendall LaVelle;
brother, Terry (Anne) LaVelle;
sisters-in-law, Kathy (Larry) Latham and Sandy (Gary) Evans and Barbara Nelson;
10 nephews;
5 nieces;
several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, on May 12, 2013; sister, Mary Lawton.
