AMES, Frederick Keith - age 85, of Swartz Creek, died March 6, 2024. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with the Rev. Bart R. Muller officiating. Visitation will be held 1 PM - 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org). Mr. Ames was born September 8, 1938 in Pickford, MI, the son of Kinnee and Leta (McKenzie) Ames. He was a 1956 graduate of Pickford High School and married Charlene Nayback on June 18, 1960 in Rudyard, MI. She preceded him n death on December 20, 2022. Mr. Ames retired from General Motors V8 Engine Plant in 1995 after 30 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 659 and Messiah Lutheran Church in Swartz Creek. Surviving are: son, Kenneth Keith Ames; daughter, Karen Dianne Ames; two sisters, Joyce Hoxsey and Shelley (John) Oja; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister-in-law, Donna Nayback; brother-in-law, Joe Hoxsey. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
