VIGUS, Donavee V. – of Clio, age 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Honoring Donavee’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clio Area Education Foundation.
Donavee was born August 3, 1930 in Gaylord, Michigan to the late Cecil and Beatrice (McVannel) Cook. She graduated from Gaylord High School and later attended Eastern Michigan University where she completed her master’s degree in education. Donavee married William Charles Vigus on January 12, 1953. He preceded her in death July 2, 2018. She was an elementary school teacher for 34 years, 26 of those years spent at Edgerton Elementary School in Clio. Donavee was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Gaylord Chapter. Though her passion was teaching she enjoyed reading and dancing with her husband. Above all, Donavee loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Rebecka Vigus, William Dean Vigus, Diane (Marty) Sather, and Nancy Manns; Grandchildren: Jamie (Phil) Kline, Clinton (Carrie) Vigus, Karen (Anthony) Attardo, Casey (Steve) Burke, Ryan Sather, Kimberly Sather, Lisa Sather, and Savannah Manns; Great grandchildren: Megan Kline, Jason Kline, Eli Vigus, Teddy Burke, and Josie Burke; Special cousin, Sharon (Park) Johnston; Many other loving family members and dear friends.
