COGGINS, Marion P. (Zmuda) – of Flint, age 89, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Maple Woods Manor. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Eddie Phillips officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, in Marion’s memory.
Marion was born in Flint, MI on November 25, 1934, daughter of the late James and Alice (Marciszewski) Zmuda. She married Patrick J. Coggins on January 14, 1956 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Flint, MI. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2014. Marion will be remembered for her role as a dedicated housewife, devoting her time and energy to her family. She found joy in crafting, cooking, and reading her bible, nurturing her creative and spiritual sides.
Marion is survived by her loving children, Michele Lightle, Paula (Lee) Ferrell, Matthew (Heidi) Coggins and daughter-in-law, Kathy Coggins; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by son, Michael and daughter, Carman; siblings, Helen Imel, Edward Zmuda and Mac Zmuda.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth and Clio Maple Woods Manor, for their loving care of our mom.
Marion Patricia Coggins will be remembered for her kind spirit, love for her family and friends, and her dedication to her community. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
