Brantley, Darlene Joyce, of Flushing, age 88, died Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Holiday Genesee Gardens. Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, September 5, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Darlene was born in Plymouth, Michigan on April 10, 1937, the daughter of Gerald Emerson and Wanetta Lucille (Joseph) Adams. She married Otto Brantley on February 18, 1984, in Flint. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2018. Darlene worked for many years at Sears. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and shopping. She attended First Baptist Church in Flushing. After Otto’s retirement, they moved to Lovells, Michigan where they were very active in the Lovells Community Chapel. Darlene had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her plants. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed hosting holidays at her home.
Darlene is survived by her children, John (Jackie) Amrhein, Carol Walczak, Lisa (Noe) Pena; grandchildren, John (Lindsay) Amrhein, Joshua (Timeisha Faith) EldenBrady-Amrhein, Andy (Laura) Amrhein, Jenny Amrhein, Sarah (Chris) Collins, Daniel (Cindy) Amrhein, Anna (Wyatt) Persons, Jenny (Jeromy) Lauwers, Rick (Jessica) Parks, Jason (Holly) Parks, Melissa Powers, Gabe (Aubrey) Pena; 34 great-grandchildren; and sister, Berva (Larry) Graham. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Adams; infant sister, Geraldine Adams; father of her children, John Elden Amrhein; and grandson, Nathan Amrhein.
