Robert Dale Cool, age 87, of Bakersfield, CA passed away at his home on August 12, 2025. Bob was born in Byron, MI on July 2, 1938. He was the son of the late John Kenneth Cool and Clara Mildred Coverdill-Cool. Bob worked at General Motors Metal Fab for 34 years as a skilled tinsmith. Bob loved to fish from small lakes to the wide-open sea and was an avid golfer who enjoyed all of his friends that he had the pleasure of playing with over the years. Bob was extremely proud of his 40 years of sobriety and helped countless others escape the disease through his dedicated participation in AA for many years. Bob loved to tell daily jokes and you could always count on him for a good laugh, we’ll miss that. Bob contracted pneumonia about a year ago that severely damaged his lungs and forced him to courageously battle to overcome it, though ultimately succumbing to the illness. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Cool (née Jenkins), his son Jim and wife Lynnette, Cool of Peoria, AZ, his daughters Brenda and husband Tom Soule of Fremont, OH, Lori Innis of Buffalo, WY, Lisa and husband Ron Forster of Gladwin, MI , son-in-law James McKenzie, four grandchildren Amanda and husband Javier Renteria of Mesa, AZ, Jessica and husband Aaron Strohl of Fort Wayne, IN, Barry Forster and fiancé Allison Pries of Chesaning, MI and Nathaniel Innis-Brown of Oklahoma City, OK, great-grandchildren Lydia, Elsie and Ezra, and his dear friends Rick and wife Cindy Hammons of Bakersfield, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, all 10 of his siblings, and step-daughter Michelle Combs. It is Bob’s wish to forego any memorial service; you’re not gone as long as you are remembered and for those that knew Bob, he’ll never be forgotten. |
