With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wilma Mae Bowen, who left this world on February 3, 2025. Born on April 23, 1949, in Owosso, Michigan, Wilma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Wilma’s journey began at Owosso Savings Bank, where she worked after high school. She later pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by opening The Sugar Shack of Corunna, a place that became a cherished part of the community. Even after selling the business, she remained dedicated to her craft and continued working there until retirement.
A woman of many talents, Wilma found joy in bowling, cake and candy decorating, puzzles and scrapbooking. Her sweet soul and kind words were gifts to everyone who knew her. She had a way of lighting up every room she entered, bringing warmth and smiles to those around her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and William Ivey, and her beloved sons, Jeffrey and Joseph Bowen.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years - Richard; her devoted daughter, Michelle (Harvey); her cherished grandchildren-Alex (Amber), Xavier, Jayden, Benjamin, Caroline, and Emma; her special niece, Angie; and many other loving family and friends.
Wilma’s kindness, love, and light will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew her.
A private service will be held at a later date.
