Hess, Charles E. - Age 80, of Grand Blanc, passed away at Ascension Genesys Hospital, with family by his side, on September 28, 2023. Per Charles request, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest, with military honors, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Date and time to be announced.
Charles was born May 2, 1943 in Powellton, WV., the son of the late Norman Lee and Ruby Mae (Simpson) Hess. He proudly served his country in The United States Army. Charles worked for General Motors for 30 years. He was a proud papa who enjoyed fishing and boat rides with his granddaughters. He was an avid classic car and street rod enthusiast. Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat of Grand Blanc; daughter, Rebecca (Matt) Wainio of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Taylor and Sydney; brother, Arthur Hess of Mt. Morris; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Hess; brothers, Ernie Hess and Larry Hess.
