SPALDING, Carole "Ann"- Age 81, of Linden, passed away January 14, 2024. Services will be held 11AM Monday, January 29, 2024 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad St., Linden, Pastor Dawn Russell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Linden Presbyterian Church. Carole was born May 13, 1942 in Swartz Creek, the fifth of eight children born to Roy Daniel and Nancy Elizabeth (McCollum) Costello. She married Douglas Spalding on February 15, 1964. After raising her three boys she went back to college and earned a degree in teaching. Following her retirement in 1999, she and Doug became foster parents. They fostered 15 children and adopted Charlie. Mrs. Spalding was a longtime, active member of Linden Presbyterian Church, where she served as Treasurer for 40 years and sang in the choir. She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Doug; sons, Tracy, Eric (Maria), Scott (Noah) and Charlie (Angelina); grandchildren, Traci Lynn, Erin (Anthony), Cody (Jazzlan), Bria and Mei; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Madelyn, Cecilia and one more on the way; sister, Geneva; brother, Bill.
