Audrey Elizabeth Simmonds of Otisville, age 79, died Thursday March 25, 2021 at Ascension-Genesys Regional. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday April 1, 2021 at the Davison Missionary Church 1481 N. Gale Rd. Davison. Rev. Rob Prince and Rev. Jason Crum officiating: with private family burial in Smith Hill Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Audrey will lie in state from 11:00 am Thursday until time of services at the church. CDC Guidelines with social distancing, small groups at one time, and masks are required. Those desiring may make contributions in Audrey’s memory to the Lymphoma Society.
Audrey was born in Flint Michigan on April 2, 1941 the daughter of the late: Robert & Grace (Phillips) Thurlow and has resided in the Otisville area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Jerry Lee Simmonds on Sept. 7, 1963 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, Otisville and he died beside her on March 25, 2021. She was a graduate of Lakeville High School. Audrey loved to play the piano, and truly loved being outdoors in her gardens and flower beds. Her true love and enjoyment was her family and spending numerous hours taking and watching her grandchildren at their many activities. She was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene, and had been employed by Wheelock Memorial Hospital in Goodrich until her retirement.
She is survived by his children: Brad and Julie Simmonds, Brian Simmonds, Beth and Brian Rudolph, and Barry and Jennifer Simmonds. She also leaves his loving grandchildren; Brent and Emily Simmonds, Courtney and Kyle Stinchcomb, Jenna Simmonds, Jorden Simmonds, Jameson Simmonds, Bailee Rudolph, Bristol Rudolph, Kolt Simmonds, Brody Mills, Madeline Mills, and great grandchildren; Kason, Lincoln, Laila, and Jade. Surviving also are her siblings; LaVerne (Sharon) Thurlow, Beverly Terwilliger, Cliff (Cindy) Thurlow, Leo (Cindy) Thurlow Gordon (Elsie) Thurlow and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by sister Bonnie V. Thurlow, brother-in-law Robert Terwilliger, and sister-in-law Judy Thurlow. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net

Jerry was born in Flint Michigan on July 24, 1944 the son of the late: Kenneth & Gynith (Grimmett) Simmonds and has resided in the Otisville area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Audrey Elizabeth Thurlow on Sept. 7, 1963 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, Otisville and she died beside him on March 25, 2021.He was a graduate of Millington High School and a supporter of Millington Football which he continued to attend into his later years. He enjoyed classic cars and attended numerous cars show in the area. Jerry spent many years collecting and working on his Farmall Tractors. His true love and enjoyment was his family and spending numerous hours taking and watching his grandchildren at their many activities. He was a member of the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Jerry was proud of his forty-four years at General Motors Pontiac Division as a Tool & Die Maker until his retirement August 1, 2005.
He is survived by his children: Brad and Julie Simmonds, Brian Simmonds, Beth and Brian Rudolph, and Barry and Jennifer Simmonds. He also leaves his loving grandchildren; Brent and Emily Simmonds, Courtney and Kyle Stinchcomb, Jenna Simmonds, Jorden Simmonds, Jameson Simmonds, Bailee Rudolph, Bristol Rudolph, Kolt Simmonds, Brody Mills, Madeline Mills, and great grandchildren; Kason, Lincoln, Laila, and Jade. Surviving also is his sister; Karen Ward, sister-in-law Janet Simmonds, and a host of extended family and friends.
