ETHRIDGE, Joanne Elaine - Age 78, of Gaines, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, October 20, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice.
Joanne was born October 16, 1944 in Flint, the daughter of Eugene H. and Olive M. (Sischo) Lathrop. She married Walter Roy Ethridge February 22, 1962 in Flint and he preceded her in death March 19, 2022. She had resided in Gaines since 1972 coming from Flint. Joanne was a member of the Durand Eagles and Dutch Hollow Golf Course. She enjoyed playing cards, crafts, sewing, crocheting, golfing, traveling, dancing, bowling and helping others in need.
Surviving are: her daughter, Dawn (Bob) Devereaux of Lansing; grandson, Lucas Devereaux of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Ethridge; brothers, Robert and Eugene Lathrop; and sister, Shirley Gorton. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
