BORHA, Michael L. Jr. - Of Grand Blanc, age 82, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc.
Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Scott Cole, Jr. officiating.
Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on March 4, 1939.
He spent most of his years growing up in the Clio/Mt. Morris, Michigan area. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1958, and was united in marriage to Allison Sanborn, of Otter Lake, Michigan on November 18, 1961.
He worked for a local farmer, Roy Hammond, until he was drafted in the U.S. Army on December 4, 1962. He was discharged on December 4, 1964.
He worked for a short time for Roy Hammond, then was employed by Eastside Buick, Flint, Michigan. In 1969 he left Eastside Buick to become employed by the Flint Board of Education, Flint, Michigan. He worked in various positions from grounds maintenance until his final position as a glazier until his retirement on October 1, 1997.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Joseph Shippritt; his brother, William Dale McGregor; his sister, Sylvia Borha Kingsbury, her husband Laverne Kingsbury and brother-in-law, Steve Byrski.
Mike is survived by his wife, Allison Borha, Grand Blanc, MI; his son, Bruce (Sheri) Borha, Hale, MI and daughter, Kelly Rodgers (Aaron), Davison, MI.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex Rodgers (Kayla Zayac), Burton, MI, Alayna Rodgers (Zach Larmor), Davison, MI and Scott (Krista) Cole, Beaverton, MI;
his great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Rodgers, Jacklynn Larmor, Leeah Cole and Avery White.
He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Shippritt Jr. (Paula), Burton, MI and sister, Gladys Shannon, Port Charlotte, FL.
He leaves numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
Per Michael's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
