Sabra Danks, age 70, of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
Sabra was born in Flint, Michigan to Lloyd and Beverly (Suffel) Danks on July 30, 1952. In her teenage years, she loved to go sailing and waterskiing. Sabra was known as a creative fiber artist. She was quite accomplished as a free hand art quilter, and enjoyed participating at art fairs where she displayed her talent. Playing Scrabble was another one of her favorites, and no one could beat her.
In her professional life, Sabra prided herself in becoming a licensed paramedic and EMT, and then she became an instructor. As an instructor, she made learning interesting and fun. She then worked as a secretary and dispatcher at American Medical Response. From there, Sabra became an executive assistant at KMart Corporation where she worked in their public relations department. At Genesys Convalescent Center (now known as Wellbridge), she worked as an executive assistant and QI.
The Danks family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Grand Blanc Fields and mid Michigan Home Health and Hospice. They were wonderful and compassionate during this difficult time.
Sabra was known as a kind, sweet and creative person and everyone who knew her would agree. She loved to laugh and brought joy to so many she came in contact with. Sabra was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege to know her.
Sabra leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Kristin (David) Roof; grandchildren Lily and Hazel; sister Cheryl (Gurdon) Hobson; niece Jamisen (John) Sivak; nephew Nathan (Deb) Hobson; great nieces CJ and Leah Sivak, and Madeleine Hobson; dear friend Linda Lewis; and other loving family members.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation in Sabra's honor.
A memorial visitation for Sabra will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and again at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. A memorial service will occur on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home.
