KITCHEN, Kenneth D. - Of Flint, age 88, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
Funeral service will be held 11:30am Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Jeremy Peters officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 W. Court Street, Flint, MI 48502 or National Federation of the Blind of Michigan, 1417 Corbet, Lansing, MI 48910.
Visitation 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born in Rector, Arkansas on January 23, 1934, the son of the late Theodore and Ruby Kitchen. Kenneth married Georgia Clark on November 4, 1989. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church, Eastern Michigan Woodworkers Association. He sold his woodwork at the Greater Flint Arts Council. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, gardening, old time radio, his cats, classic cars, and spending time with his family. Kenneth owned and operated Semmens Transmission Service in Flint. Kenneth also worked for 30 years for Complete Auto Transit.
Surviving are wife, Georgia;
Sons, Kenneth (Denis) Kitchen and Brian (Tamera) Kitchen;
Sister, Virginia Bedwell;
Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews;
And in-laws, Robert (Joyce) Clark.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and his sister.
