RUSS, Rita M. - Of Grand Blanc, age 78, passed away peacefully Monday, April 26, 2021 surrounded by her family holding her hand.
Visitation 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.

Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Rita was born in Flint, Michigan on February 20, 1943, the daughter of William and Bertha (Dubie) Owen. She married the love of her life, Richard A., on August 4, 1962. Rita worked at Holy Redeemer cafeteria, Day's Ease and Smith Barney. She earned her Associates in Business degree from Baker College. Rita enjoyed reading, crocheting, needle point, gardening, going up north, vacation trips with her husband, and spending time with her grandsons.
Surviving are husband, Richard;
daughter Julie; sons Richard K. and Daniel (Tomi); grandsons Gavin, Evan and Dustin; granddaughters, Sarah and Lauren and favorite Great Aunt Barbara O'Harris. Many siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by parents, William and Bertha Owen, brother Dennis and sister Christine.
The family would like to thank Dr. Amy Daros, the staff at The Oaks at Woodfield, Heartland Hospice & Mid-Michigan Hospice for their tireless work in taking care of Rita over the years.
