NESTER, Michael - Age 94, of Swartz Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Funeral of Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2023 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 Elms Road, Flushing. The Very Reverend James Batcha celebrant. Burial at St. Michael Byzantine Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
Michael was born October 16, 1928 in Flint, the son of Frank and Mary (Macko) Nester. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from GM Truck and Bus. He was a life member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, Barbara; children, Linda (John) Sversko of Swartz Creek, Paula (Bruce) Rock of Lennon, Carol (Daniel) Sanders of Grand Rapids and Sandra (Thomas) Gotham of Swartz Creek; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Margaret Sims; brothers, Frank and Andrew Nester; and sisters, Mary Kalat and Ann Fromholz. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
