PETRIKEN, Michael J. – Of Davison, age 71, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at McLaren-Flint.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Visitation 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 and 12 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on May 3, 1951, the son of the late David and Marion (Johnston) Petriken.
Mike (Chrome)graduated from Flint Southwestern High School Class of 1969. On August 1, 1998 Michael married Kathryn Hawley.
He really enjoyed singing and playing guitar with his lifelong friend, Randy Dabbs.
He enjoyed bowling, achieving a 300 game two times, golfing, boating, dancing, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He taught them every tongue twister known to man and loved taking them on bike rides.
Mike retired from General Motors AC Spark Plug Division in 2006 and was a member of UAW Local #651.
Surviving are loving wife of 24 years, Kathy;
son, Bart Petriken;
daughter, Janice Petriken;
2 bonus-sons, Brian (Jayna) Abraham and Brandon Abraham;
grandchildren, Selena Petriken, Rhiannon Petriken, Trevor Candy, Aiden Petriken, Gavin, Elliott, Caiden, Emmery and Preston Abraham;
2 great-grandchildren, Ashton Pecoraro and Hazel Candy;
sister, Sharon (George) Kalis;
2 brothers, David (Betty) Petriken and Rick (Linda) Petriken;
sister-in-law, Linda (David) Fairchild;
many good friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Staff Sergeant Brett Petriken; sister, Nanette Tolley and in-laws, T.J. and Iva Hawley.
