Bev, as known to friends, was born on June 11, 1931 to George and Ellen Flint in Bayonne, NJ. As a result of the death of her mother following childbirth, Bev grew up with her paternal grandparents to the age of 5 at which time she was reunited with her father, brother George Jr., and new step-mother, Ollie Flint in Roselle Park, NJ. The family eventually grew with the addition of half-brothers, Raymond and Russell Flint. After graduating from Roselle Park High School in 1949, Bev began work in New York City and Standard Oil Company. As fate would have it, her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Joan Schultz, introduced Bev to her brother, Ben Schultz of Flint, MI. After a short courtship, Ben and Bev married in Roselle Park, NJ on November 3, 1951 and established their residence in Flint, MI. They soon began and raised a family of four children in Flint’s north end. Bev rejoined the workforce in 1969 as an Insurance Adjuster at Royal Globe Insurance Company, then retiring in 1991. Bev and Ben, together with family and friends were adventurous in a broad variety of interests including trailering, foreign travel, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, biking, snorkeling, golfing, cards, socializing, and a number of service-oriented organizations including St. John’s Christian Service, Daughters of Isabella, and the Hibernians. Throughout her life, Bev was a devoted and involved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and in-law to 31, as well as a beloved friend to many.
Bev is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Ben; mother, Ellen; father, George and step-mother, Ollie; 3 brothers, George Jr., Raymond, and Russell Flint and brother-in-law, William Rishel.
