Gordon “Gordy” L. Faille, of Flushing, Michigan, age 82, died Friday, January 19, 2024. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home with a service of memory sharing at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial contributions may be made the Old Newsboys of Flint.
Gordon began working at Buick City on 9/13/1962 where he took pride in serving as a Committee Rep for UAW Local 599. After retiring, he worked for Bueche’s food world in Flushing as a meat cutter (don’t let him catch you calling him a butcher though). He believed that all occasions were Flannel or Hawaiian shirt appropriate and you would be hard pressed to find him dressed in anything else; unless it was camo of course.
He loved fishing with his brother-in-law, Don, as well as hunting in his younger years, playing the lottery, and drinking Mt. Dew. He loved and cherished his family above all else. Our wisecracking man of few words (but PLENTY of witty remarks) would hate knowing that we are hurting, but the heartache we feel is a testament to the man, he was, and the love we have for him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barb; children, Gordon A. Faille, Michelle (Hap) Ashley, Sue (Dave) Brooks, Chris (Alicia) Faille, and Alan (Jen) Faille; grandchildren, Blake (Chelsie) Ashley, Megan Ashley, Lindsay Brooks, Kevin (Ericka) Brooks, Andrew (Javier) VanWagner, Samantha Faille, Brady Faille, and Zoey Faille; great-grandchildren, Bryar, Brynlee, Addie, Ella, and Madison; brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Respecki; and sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Respecki Diane (Ron) Hall, Gail Berg, and Marie (Don) Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Faille and Josephine Respecki; brother, Dennis Respecki; and sister, Elizabeth Faille. |
