KIRK, David Wesley “Captain” – Of Swartz Creek, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at McLaren-Flint.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

Memorial visitation 1-4pm Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint
David was born in Flint, Michigan on August 9, 1939 and was a resident of Genesee County all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion and lifetime member of VFW.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and sport diving. David was an electrician for Weinstein Electric for 38 years, retiring on January 1, 1999. He was also a member of IBEW Local 948.
Surviving are his wife and best friend, Marlene;
6 children, Richard of Flint, Kimberly Kirk of Flint, David, Jr. and wife Donna of Florida; Lisa Kirk of Swartz Creek, Lori Jachim of Swartz Creek and Mary Jo Bradley of Burt;
10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren;
one half-brother, Jimmy and wife Debbie Kirk of Twining;
half-sister, Dolores Jean and husband Will How of Hutto, Texas;
step-brother, William and wife Ramona Hill of Twining
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette; brothers, Denzel Dockery and Dwight Dockery; sister, Beatrice “Bunny” Haggerty.
