FRENCH, Marilyn (Clark) – of Burton, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Honoring Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Marilyn was born in Flint, MI on September 3,1933, daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Hardy) DeWitt. She married Herman O. Clark on July 29, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 27,1979. Marilyn later married Robert French on January 28, 1983, and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2018. She loved traveling and knitting. Marilyn worked as a Dental Assistant more than 20 years. Above all, Marilyn loved spending time with her family. On Friday nights, Marilyn would host neighbors, friends, and family at her home for dinner and good times.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Herman (Shelia) Clark, Cindy (Edward) Gancarz and Viki (Joseph) Henry; grandchildren, Amy (Shawn) Robinson, Adam (Tawanna) Clark, Terry (Jennifer) Bailey, Edward Gancarz, Heather Porter, Joseph, Lexi and Trevor Henry; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Onalee Mabrey.
The family would like to thank Matt Brawner and the staff at The Pines of Burton Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care given to Marilyn.
