Bert D. Shook age 97 of Durand, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 peacefully at his home. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Bert David Shook was born February 12, 1924 in Durand, a son of Bert and Jenny Shook. On May 15, 1947 he married Betty Jean Eddy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he had been employed by Chevrolet for 41 years.
Bert is survived by his sons, Greg Shook and Doug (Viji) Shook; grandchildren, Jeff Shook, Scott (Stefanie Simons) Shook and Jason (Toni) Shook; grandson, Jason Shook Jr.; and sister, Gertrude Henderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shook; grandson, Anthony "Cody" Shook; brothers, Arthur, Stewart and William Shook; and sisters, Mae Apsey, Phyllis Russell and Claudia Foreman.
