ECKERDT, Alex - Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died March 18, 2015. Services will be 12 PM Saturday, March 21 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor David Galbraith officiating. Visitation will be held 10 AM until time of service on Saturday, March 21.
Mr. Eckerdt was born March 3, 1924 in Flint, the son of Alexander and Mary (Neiderquell) Eckerdt. He graduated from Flint Northern High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army/ Airforce serving in WWII. Alex married Marion O'Kazin on February 23, 1952 in Flint. He retired from Buick in 1985 after 41 years of service. Alex was a member of the Peace Presbyterian Church (formerly First Reformed Church).
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marion; son, Mark; brother, Ernie Eckerdt Sr.; niece, Cory; nephew, Ernie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Albert.
