DAVIS, Charles "Chuck" Raymond - Age 80, of Fenton, our dearest husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend went to be with the Lord on December 28th, 2019. Mass will be held at 11 am, Friday January 3rd at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey will be the celebrant. Viewing prior to the mass will occur from 10 am to 11 am at the church. Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday, January 2 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton with a 7 pm vigil service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Schools.
Chuck was born in Luxora, Arkansas, the son of Raymond and Mary. The family moved north to Michigan when Chuck was 10 years old and he later met the love of his life, Phyllis, when he was 15. They were married July 18, 1959 and celebrated their 60 wedding anniversary this past summer. Chuck worked at the GM V8 Engine plant for 36 years and retired at 58 to spend numerous years travelling with Phyllis, friends and family. At work and at home, Chuck was "Mr. Fix-It" and was incredibly generous with his time and skill to everyone who needed help. He loved fishing, his work shop, his golf cart "The Chuck Wagon" and card games. He was notorious for his practical jokes and his homemade chocolate cracker cookies. Most of all Chuck will be remembered for his kindness, sincerity and love. He will be missed greatly.
Chuck is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughters Melinda Davis and Julie Davis; grandchildren Jesse Barton, Jonathon Barton, Kayla Coles, sister Shirley Henry; brother Dennis (Gail) Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Tink Henry. Online condolences may be posted on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
