CAUDELL, Frederick “Fred” Daniel, Jr. – of Davison, MI, age 79, passed away at his residence on Friday, March 15, 2024 after a brief illness. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Flint Elks #222, 7177 East Maple Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 on a later date. Fred was born in Goodrich, MI on October 20, 1944, son of the late Frederick and Joyce (Caryl) Caudell. He was a master builder and contractor around the Flint area for much of his professional career. Fred was a member of the Davison Eagles City of Flags Aerie 3589, Fraternal Order of Police and the Brotherhood of the Bow where he enjoyed time in the woods hunting with his longtime friends. In his well-deserved retirement, Fred traded his hammer for a nine iron, immersing himself in his love for golf. Whether he was perfecting his swing or sharing the fairways with loved ones, Fred's passion for the sport was contagious. His remarkable skill even graced the Flint Elks Club, where he and his wife, Kathy were 28-year members. It was at the Flint Elks Club that Fred celebrated not one, but two unforgettable holes-in-one alongside his devoted wife, Kathy, and their cherished family. A fervent supporter of Michigan State University athletics, Fred's heart beat true for the Spartans. His enthusiasm for MSU sports knew no bounds, and he reveled in every victory and shared the agony of defeat with fellow fans. Above all, Fred cherished time spent with his beloved family, particularly his children and grandchildren. His unwavering love, guidance, and laughter created treasured memories that will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him. Fred's legacy of hard work, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who were touched by his warmth and kindness. He leaves behind a legacy as sturdy and enduring as the structures he built, forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of calling him friend, husband, father, and grandfather.

Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy (Kraysovic) Caudell; 2 children, Chad (Kelly) Caudell and Courtney (Rob) Friedle; 4 grandchildren, Cameron Szelesi, Carson Szelesi, Madison Friedle and Cameron Friedle; 4 siblings, Leonard Caudell, Linda (Jake) Jacobsen, Kathy Cox and Steve (Cindy) Caudell; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Joyce Caudell; grandson, Tyler Sadler; sister-in-law, Wanda Caudell and brother-in-law, Wayne Cox.
