Alexander Kopicko, age 94 of Grand Blanc, formally of Coleman/Gladwin, passed away on October 24, 2021. Formerly from Pittsburgh, PA. He became a resident of Michigan in the year 1955. He worked for General Motors at Buick Fisher Body (Tank Plant) and retired from Cadillac Motor Division as a Supervisor. He was employed for a total of 33 years and enjoyed working with the people and for the corporation. There was no such thing as a stranger to Alexander. He liked carrying on a conversation with anyone and found everyone interesting.
Alexander was married to Kathyleen for 61.5 years. They had a wonderful marriage and enjoyed life day by day with the simplicity of life itself. Together they enjoyed gardening very much. The red colored roses were his favorite in the garden and his wife’s favorite was the yellow roses.
Alexander is survived by stepdaughter Evelyn Carpenter; stepdaughter-in-law Grace Carpenter; grandchildren Leo (Betty) Carpenter, Charlene (Dennis) Comstock, Jeff Carpenter, Daniel Hect, Charles Hect, Terry (Lisa) Hect, Jodie (Anthony) Scotti; brother-in-Law Virgil June; sisters-in-law Joyce Parkins, Joan (William) Hawley, and Georgia (Harold) Hinebuck. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends abound.
Alexander was preceded in death by his wife Kathyleen Kopicko, father Stanley Kopicko; mother Julianna Kopicko; brothers Stanley Kopicko, Adam Kopicko, John Kopicko and Joseph Kopicki, sister Regina Kopicko; stepson Leo C. Carpenter.
Friends and family may visit on Monday, November 8th from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 9th at 11 AM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Interment will follow at West Deerfield Cemetery. |
