SOLARZ, Chester Anthony, Jr. – of Columbiaville, MI, age 73, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, April 4, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Oregon Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2:30-7 PM Sunday, April 3, 2022, and 11 AM until the time of service on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Leader Dogs for The Blind, in Chester’s memory.
Chester was born in Flint, MI on October 22, 1948, son of the late Chester and Sophie (Lunkas) Solarz. He was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1967. Chester married Linda Sharp on April 17, 1971, in Portland, MI. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. He retired from UA Local #370 Plumbers & Pipefitters in 1999 after 32 years of service and 55 years of membership. He worked for Owen Wood at Johnson-Wood Mechanical for 28 years. Chester was a proud grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved spending summers at the lake house. Chester was a family man; he cherished the times that he was able to be around those he loved.
Chester is survived by his loving wife, Linda Solarz; 2 children, Chester “Andy” (Kara) Solarz and David Solarz; 5 grandchildren, Gracie Solarz, Quentin Cesefske, Grant (Megan) Polmanteer, Seth Polmanteer and Mason Polmanteer; 4 siblings, Maryanne Solarz, Lillian Solarz, Nancy Solarz and Matthew Solarz; honorary brother, John Sinka; and many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Sophie Solarz.
