Ann was born in Flint, Michigan on February 15, 1945, the second child and eldest daughter of the late Clement Gerald and Mary Esther (Lawrence) Rowe.
She graduated from Swartz Creek High School, the class of 1963. Ann earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 1967 and completed her internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1968. She dedicated 45 years working as a registered dietitian at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
A devoted wife to Gary Cox, they began their beautiful 51-year life together when they married on June 3, 1974. Their marriage proved that true love is not just sharing the sunshine but also weathering the storm together. They had three children together, daughter Sarah and sons Glen and Greg who they raised with unconditional love and support.
Once her own children were grown Ann took on the role of doting and ever present “Nana” to two beloved granddaughters. She was Grace and Abbey’s biggest cheerleader, and they built countless precious memories of vacations, sleepovers, cribbage matches, and daily presence that they will carry in their hearts forever. Ann also had a special affection for her “grand dogs” Chief and Fiona, she could often be found with one nestled beside her, receiving gentle pets and cuddles.
With her profound thoughtfulness Ann touched the lives of many people with her generous spirit and compassionate heart. Shopping with her love language she could hardly resist a sale prided herself on finding the perfect gifts and always picked out just the right card. Ann never forgot a birthday or special anniversary and ensured the recipient felt seen, loved, and supported. She was remarkably giving something she also shows in her lifelong support of social justice causes.
Ann leaves behind her husband Gary Cox; daughter Sarah Hogan; son-in-law Adam Hogan; brother Lawrence Rowe and special friend Martha Brist; sister Elizabeth Jane Rowe-Vorkoper; granddaughters Grace and Abbigale Hogan; nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Clement Rowe; her mother Mary Esther Lawence Rowe; sister Martha Rowe Campbell; son Glen Michael Cox in 2000 and son Gregory Allen Cox in 2002.
