David E. McGrew, age 65 of Gaines, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Dave's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Dave was born on August 15, 1957 in Flint, Michigan to the late Drewie and Frances (Thomas) McGrew. He attended Holly High School, graduating in 1975, and Dave later married Joy Peter in Mt. Morris on April 19, 1986.
Dave was a loyal General Motors employee at the Truck and Bus Plant in Flint for over 45 years in skilled trades. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, tractors and loved cruising on his Harley.
Dave is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joy; his 2 children: Jason (Laura) McGrew and Jane McGrew; grandchildren: Issac and Elizabeth McGrew; 5 siblings: Don McGrew, Bill (Janet) McGrew, Jim McGrew, Paula (Walter) Horton, Carla Rigsby and many nieces and nephews.
