CLARK, Alexander Jr. “Al” “Sunny” – Of Flint, age 64, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3pm Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Dean Stuart officiating.
Visitation 1pm Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Cremation has taken place.
Contributions may be made to the family for the placement of a memorial bench in Manistee, Michigan in Al’s memory.
Al was born in Flint, Michigan on November 25, 1960, the son of the late Alexander Sr. and Helen (Beach) Clark. On June 8, 1985, he married the love of his life, Terri Phillips. Al was a police officer for 28 years. He served 25 years with the Flint Township Police Department. He was a two time Law Enforcement Officer of the year for Genesee County. When Al was not serving and protecting our community, you could find him outdoors with the wildlife, hunting, fishing or camping with his family and watching sunsets with his wife, Terri. Al coached football for the Renegades and baseball for Flint Southwest Academy. His greatest spiritual companion was his sister, Barbara. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and 2 dogs. His proudest moment was marrying his wife and becoming a father to his 2 boys and grandfather to Caiden. Al was blessed with family, friends and loved ones as well as brothers and sisters of law enforcements. Al loved cooking and talking, even if you were a stranger. His greatest characteristic was his love he showed others and his integrity.
Surviving are wife, Terri Clark;
Children, Alex Clark III and Jonathan (Breona) Clark;
Grandson, Caiden;
Sisters, Sue Wright and Barbara (Gary) Palinsky;
Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews;
His dogs, Scrappy and Gabby;
And many special friends that were like family.
He was preceded in death by his siters, Jan Evans.
