SMITH, Steven – of Mt. Morris, age 66, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at Ascension Genesys of Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday, January 12, 2023, at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 2PM until 8PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
Steven was born February 19, 1956, in Flint, to the late Robert and Florence (Wolosonowich) Smith. He attended Elizabeth Ann Johnson High School and worked at Buick for 25 years where he later retired. On September 24, 1977, Steven married the love of his life and best friend, Lee Ann Gorte. Together they shared 45 years of marriage and raised 3 beautiful children. Steve loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and traveling up north where the family would go on annual camping trips and ride four wheelers. Steve was a very good tennis player and liked to watch U of M football from time to time. He was a professional at making others laugh with his fiery sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. Above all, Steven was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steven is forever loved by his beautiful wife, Lee Ann Smith; Children: Cori (Shawn) Smith, Katie (Rick) Conley, and Kyle Smith; Grandchildren: Izabella and Brody; Siblings: Bob, Judy (Gary), Chris, Joe (Shelly), Jeff (Karen), Mary (Dave), and Michelle; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends.
