ENGLUND, Rachael G. — Age 86, of Fenton, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rachael was born on April 30, 1940, in Martinez, California, the daughter of Primo and Michaelia Vargas. She married the love of her life, Richard Englund, on Christmas Day, December 25, 1957, in Fairfield, California.
Rachael was the heart of her family and the glue that held everyone together. She was, without a doubt, the best mom and grandma in the whole wide world. Her love was unconditional, her home was always a place of comfort, and her door was always open to the people she loved. She raised her daughters with devotion and played a cherished role in raising her grandchildren, surrounding them with a lifetime of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories.
Some of the family's most treasured memories were made at Grandma's house. It was a place where everyone felt loved, welcomed, and at home. Rachael had a special way of bringing people together, often through the meals she lovingly prepared. Whether she was making her famous tacos, cooking authentic Mexican food, or simply scrambling eggs for her family, everything she made was served with love. Her kitchen was more than a place to cook; it was a gathering place where family came together, stories were shared, and memories were made.
For her grandchildren, time spent at Grandma's house will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Those moments, both big and small, became treasured memories that will be carried with them throughout their lives. Rachael's love was woven into the everyday moments, the meals she prepared, the care she gave, and the comfort of simply being together. These are the memories that will continue to bring smiles, warmth, and a feeling of home long after her passing.
Rachael's legacy is one of family, devotion, tradition, and a love that will never fade. Though her family must now learn to navigate life without her physical presence, the bond she created will remain unbroken. She will live on in the stories shared around the dinner table, in the recipes passed down through generations, in the traditions her family continues, and in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have been loved by her. She was the center of her family's world, and she will forever be missed, deeply loved, and never forgotten.
Rachael is survived by her beloved daughter, Terri Englund (Steve); grandchildren, Rosemary Boan (Robert), Brooke (Anthony) Card, and Blake (Aimee) Boan; great-grandchildren, Austin (Ava) Boan, Lucas, Aidan & Noah Card, Carter & Juliana Boan; son-in-law David White and brothers, David, Primo, Michael & Ed Vargas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Englund; daughters, Rebecca White and Rosemary Englund; her parents, Primo and Michaelia Vargas; and siblings, Samuel, Ruben, Albert, Carmen, Raymond, & Helen.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday October 21, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in the Chapel of Holy Innocents. Burial will follow at Tyrone Memory Gardens. Visitation for close family & friends will begin at 11 a.m., prior to the service. |
