Ronald Stacy Schor, of Flushing, Michigan, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Ron was born in Miami, Florida on August 30, 1937 and moved to Flint, Michigan with his family in June of 1946, living in an Army tent for four months. Ron attended Payson School, Emerson Junior High, and Flint Northern High School where he graduated in 1955. Ron played football in the tenth grade but had to stop when he was involved in a vehicle accident. His first job was driving a gravel truck and after graduating worked at Buick as an inspector for Axels. He then got a job with the City of Flint as a cement finisher and pipe layer then moved on to becoming a patrolman and detective for the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. In 1966 he was hired in at Buick Motor Division as a security officer and retired from there in 1993. After his retirement he started his own business hauling vehicles and traveled a good share of the U.S. Ron married Patricia A. McMurphy in June of 1958 and together they had four children. Ron and Pat both loved to bowl, snowmobile, and go boating. Ron was President of the Flushing Frozen Forty Snowmobile Club, President of the Au Gres Yacht Club Mariner Association, and Commodore of Au Gres Yacht Club, and was a life member of the Flushing Masons. With the Shriners he was member of the Knights Templar, past President of the Shriners, and played drums as a part of the Military Patrol as well as Chairman of the Circus Park Blue Grass Festival.
Surviving are his children, Kevin and wife Kristin Schor, daughter Julie and husband Steve Kruske, and John Schor; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Schor; son, Keith Schor; and grandson, Trevor Schor.
