DELLING, Dennis Donald – of Flint, age 71, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, Michigan 48506; Father Denis Spitzley celebrant. Interment will take place following the Mass in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to Mass, beginning at 10 AM at the church.
Dennis was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 21, 1954, the son of the late Jack and MaryAnn (Kozachik). He graduated from Bentley Senior High School in 1972 and began his working career at Herrlich’s Drug Store in Flint. In 1974, Dennis married Pauline Aitkens and together they were blessed with four children. Dennis went on to become a journeyman electrician and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Delphi, retiring in June 2012. A hardworking and dedicated man, Dennis took great pride in providing for his family and in all that he accomplished throughout his life. One of Dennis’s greatest joys was the family cabin in East Tawas, which he purchased in 1992. He poured his heart into working on and improving the cabin, creating a special place where his family could gather, relax, and make memories together. It will forever remain a cherished part of his legacy and a place where his family can continue to feel his presence. Dennis loved being outdoors and treasured time spent on his boat, the MADJACK, fishing and hunting alongside family members and friends. He had a passion for his favorite sports teams, the Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Michigan State Spartans, and he proudly enjoyed riding his Harley. Dennis also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved Maggie and Charlie. Known for his genuine nature and friendly spirit, Dennis made many lifelong friends throughout the years. Above all, Dennis was a devoted father, grandfather, family man, and friend. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dennis is survived by his children: Jack Delling, Amy Delling and Crystal (David) Peel, grandchildren: Kelsey, MaryAnn, Jacob, Madison (Vicente), Brittany (Eric), Heidi (Tyler), Austin (Malari); 14 great grandchildren; siblings: Dave (Melody) Delling and Diane (Jesse Hier) Delling, many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; son, Charles W. Delling; loving furbaby, Onyx.
