Donald Jay Herald
Age 78 of Hazelton Township passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 17, 2021 at McGeehan Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16th from 2:00 to 8:00pm.
Donald was born on September 16, 1942 to James and Lizzie (Raleigh) Herald in Wolf Coal, Kentucky. He was married to Rhonda (Seeback) Herald for many years before she predeceased him in 2002.
Don worked as a machine repairman for GM Chevrolet for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, talking on the phone, reading, and doing crosswords with his son, Ray. He also enjoyed watching Kentucky basketball. Don loved coon hunting and served as President of the Great Northern Raccoon Club. He was a member of the New Lothrop Nazarene Church.
Don is survived by his daughters, Debra (Tim) Borrow and Dana Herald; step-sons, Jeff Sari and Destry Sari; his sister, Emma Williams; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife, Rhonda Herald; his son, Ray Herald; his parents; brothers, Roy, Ray, and Troy; sister, Gertie. |
