Nina Caroline (Flowers) Crnkovich, age 76, passed away on March 14, 2022 at Bayfield Assisted Living in Bay City, Michigan
Nina was born on April 15, 1945 in Decatur County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of James and Ruth (Moore) Flowers and the second of four children, including her brothers Douglas, Dalton and Timmie. Her family moved to Michigan in 1953 and lived on Broadway on the old east side of Flint. Nina graduated from Central High School in 1964 and lived all of her life in Flint. She retired from AC SparkPlug (Dort Highway Plant) in 1995 after 30 years as a UAW Local 651 member.
Nina leaves her family and friends with memories of her caring, generosity toward others, and sense of humor. She made sure her mother never went without anything. Nina loved animals, taking care of several neighborhood stray cats over the years. Nina also made several friends during her time at AC that she remained in contact with for all of her life.
Nina leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Janis (Albin) Pinter; beloved sisters-in-law: Shirley (Roy) Flowers, Marilyn (Lloyd) Flowers; special nieces: Debbie Malott, Dawn Colvin, and April Fabbilli; her nephew, Daniel Flowers; and many great-nieces and nephews. She has beloved aunts and cousins still residing in Tennessee, including: Kathy, Kay, Linda and Helen. Nina also leaves behind her longtime friends: Cheryl House and Ray & Delores Peltier. Nina was predeceased by both of her parents; her three brothers; her nephew, Douglas; close friend from AC, Doris Linaberry; and several aunts and uncles.
A special thanks to her friends and caregivers, Donna and Danielle; and to the caring staff of Bayfield Assisted Living and McLaren Bay Region Hospice, who brought peace to her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Nina’s favorite charities for animals are encouraged: Humane Society of Genesee County (G-3325 Dort Hwy, Burton, MI 48529) or Los Gatos Foster Animals (PO Box 441, Davison, MI 48423).
Family will greet guest from 10:00am until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Per Nina’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be inurned at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint next to her beloved mother.
