CARRIERE, LAWRENCE F.- of Grand Blanc, age 89, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Springvale Assisted Living. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Holy
Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Leronio Vidovodi officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-8pm Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A rosary will be
prayed at 6pm. Visitation will continue from 9am until the time of service at the church.
Larry was born on May 1, 1937, in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, the son of the late Alexander and Mae Carriere. He graduated from St. John Vianney High School. Larry was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. Larry was a member of Flint Woodcarvers and enjoyed woodcarving. He loved to build things and spending time with his family and dog Bella. Larry retired as a supervisor from General Motors AC Spark Plug after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Michele Carriere, Jon Carriere, Cheryl (James) Williams, Yvette Carriere (Bob Koryto), Andrea Carriere; 6
grandchildren, Jeff Carriere, Noah and Colton Carriere, Alisha Williams, Jessica Williams and Shianne Williams; 5 great-grandchildren;
2 sisters, Jeanette Boucher and Elaine Carriere; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Nancy (Dave) Kummer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Janet and brother Phillip Carriere.
