ATHERTON, Betty L. - Of Burton, age 84, died Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Reverend Harold K. Polk Jr. officiating.
Burial Oakwood Cemetery in Durand, Michigan.
Visitation Tuesday 4-8pm and Wednesday 4-8pm and Thursday 11am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Old News Boys of Flint.
Betty was born in Flint, Michigan on July 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lila (Inman) Lewis. On November 8, 1958, she married Larry William Atherton in Flint. She was a member of the Burton and Hale Eagles and formerly a member of the Hale Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.
Surviving are children, Larry (Julie), Sherry Mozingo, Terry (Marie), Garry (Rebecca);
8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, John and William and sisters, Judy, Janet and Nancy.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Janet Mae.
