COX, Kimberly “Kym”– of Davison, Michigan, age 50, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, January 23, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah Larose-Nettel officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, January 22, 2023, and the hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Autism Speaks.
Kimberly was born in Flint, Michigan on August 26, 1972, daughter of Kathleen Humphries and stepfather Edward Doyle. Kimberly, or Kim, was an intensive care nurse at Ascension Genesys Hospital where she was also very active as chief union steward and member of the State Board of Nursing.
Kim was deeply involved in her work at the hospital where she had been for over eighteen years. She was dedicated to patient care and to caring for and connecting with her co-workers. Throughout her career she advanced herself from nursing assistant to registered nurse and finally gaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Ferris State University. In her personal life, she enjoyed travel and spending time with her friends and family, especially trips with the girls to Hilton Head and other beach vacations. Most of all she loved camping and the friendship, freedom, and relaxation it provided.
Kim is survived by her mother Kathleen Humphries, daughter Gabrielle "Bell", son Blaine, grandson Curtis, Brother Rick (Ashley) Humphries, ex-husband Brian Cox, five nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Earlene Kaplan, stepfather Edward Doyle, and brother Matthew Humphries.
She will be greatly missed. We love her to the moon and back.
