Roy Edward Holmstrom
Age 76, of Tawas City, Michigan former resident of Goodrich, Michigan died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born the son of Edward and Dorothy (Fisher) Holmstrom on June 20, 1944 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Roy proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and spending time with his family. Roy married his best friend Barbara Gray on January 21, 1967 and together they shared 54 years of marriage and raised two children. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and children; Lynette (Nathan) Williams and Wayne (Rachel) Holmstrom, his sister Ruth Griebe and grandchildren; Emily (Joe Kozlowski) Holmstrom, Peyton (Jared Hoag) Williams and Kyle Tyra. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Jane Fultz. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the American Legion Post 211 in East Tawas, Michigan with military honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Roy’s honor to the Tawas Area Honor Guard.
