KING SR., Darwin A. – of Flint, age 67, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 1013 Hughes Avenue, Flint, MI 48503; Bishop Keith McKinnies, Pastor David Rouleau and Pastor Timothy McKinnies co-officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the time of the service on Monday at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan School for the Deaf, 1235 W. Court Street, Flint, MI 48503, in Darwin’s memory.
Darwin was born in Flint, MI on December 28, 1954, son of Louis and Marie (Shannon) King. Darwin was a U.A.W. Local #659 Chapter Member Retiree, with a diverse career in the automotive manufacturing industry. He was an active member of Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle Church and Flint Association of the Deaf. Darwin enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, and fishing. He was an automobile enthusiast and a craftsman with many trades. Darwin was always willing to help anyone in need.
A man of steadfast devotion to our Lord and a loving father, son, brother and dear friend, Darwin is survived by his son, Darwin King, Jr.; parents, Louis and Marie King; siblings, David King, Douglas (Terri) King, Deborah (Larry) Hawley, Dean (Pansy) King, Dennis (Carrie) King, Drew (Deborah) King, Daniel (Mary) King and John King; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Gage Spiece.
