Hawes, Michael David, of Flushing, age 48, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on April 27, 1975, the son of Charles Hawes and Judith (Vroman) Rockwood. He worked as a welder/fabricator. Michael was well loved by his family and many friends. He was a people person who enjoyed telling stories, the bigger, the better. He was also an avid U of M fan.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Phill and her mother, Carrie; his mother, Judy Rockwood; siblings. Patty (Kevin), Chuck, Dawn (Herb), Lenny (Jackie), Lynn (Frank), Kelly (Kevin); many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Leonard Rockwood and Charles Hawes.
